God Will Fulfill His Word!

This past Sunday, March 8, 2009, we had a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our worship service.

I preached from Daniel 8:1-8 on the subject "God will fulfill His Word."

I drew from the passages of Scripture where Daniel was given the dream of the ram and the he-goat that described two particular empires that would, in succession, overthrow Medo-Persia. The ram symbolized the Medes and Persian Empire and the he-goat symbolized the Grecian Empire, primarily the leadership of Alexander the Great. The Medo-Persian Empire defeated the Babylonian Empire and the Grecian Empire defeated the Medo-Persian Empire.

What Daniel saw in his dream future to him but is now history to us. Within 15 years of his dream, the Medes and Persians would overthrow the Babylonian Empire and just over 200 years later, the Grecians, under the leadership of Alexander the Great, would overthrow the Medo-Persian Empire in a massively destructive manner.

"What does this have to do with me?" you might ask. I personally believe it has everything to do with me and you!

As I stated above, what Daniel saw in chapter 8, verses 1-8 of Daniel, was future to him, but is now history to us. What's the significance of this? The validity of God's Word is revealed in the fact of fulfillment. Just as Daniel's dream was from God and revealing future events regarding these particular nations that had and would oppress the Jews, we can with confidence put our trust in His Word, knowing that God will fulfill what is YET to be fulfilled!

I shared various examples from the Word of God where prophecies were given and then how and when they were fulfilled; prophecies concerning the birth of Isaac, King Josiah, Jesus and the return of the Jews to their homeland.

God will fulfill His word!!! My what a move of the Holy Spirit in our service. The glory of God filled the House as the folk opened their hearts to receive from the Lord. What a outpouring of His Spirit!

Comparing Scripture to Scripture and considering the historical facts…God will fulfill His Word! That's why I cling to the hope of the resurrection in the event of the Rapture of the Church!

Until my next blog confabulation….God bless!
