The I Will's of the Resurrection!
What a great Easter Sunday of worship we had. It was truly a wonderful day of fellowship with God's people and celebration of Christ's resurrection.
I deviated from the study of Daniel that I had been preaching from on Sunday's to minister from John 2 in honor of this very special occasion of Easter.
I preached on the subject of "The 'I Will's' of the Resurrection."
I drew my thought from Jesus' words in John 2:19, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." Jesus wasn't referring to the material temple in Jerusalem but the temple of His body. "Crucify Me on the cross and in three day's I will raise it up!"
From here I preached on 7 "I Will's" that were promised by Jesus in light of and on the fact of His resurrection from the dead.
Those 7 "I Will's" were:
I WILL be who I said I Am! (John 2:19; Romans 1:4)
I WILL give you hope of the resurrection! (John 6:44)
I WILL give you heaven! (John 14:1-3)
I WILL be with in presence! (John 14:16-18)
I WILL love you! (John 14:21)
I WILL manifest myself to you! (John 14:21)
I WILL come in to you and fellowship with you! (Revelation 3:20)
Oh the joy of God's Word. It's such a comfort and reassuring power in such troubled times we live in.
I'm reminded of the Words of the Psalmist David in context of what God's Word meant to him, "More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb." (Psalms 19:10)
Until my next blog confabulation…God bless!
